The Athletics broke loose for seven runs in the fifth inning and defeated the Twins, 12-7, to end an eight-game losing streak. Three walks, two errors, three wild pitches and three hits, one a two-run double by Claudell Washington, marked the wild inning. Bert Campaneris stole five bases, giving him a career total of 528.
