Ken Singleton doubled in the seventh for the run that gave the Orioles a 4-3 win over the Tigers. Detroit's Ron LeFlore tripled in the first and beat out a bunt for a single to extend his hitting streak to 30 games, four behind George Sisler's A. L. record of 34 at the start of a season (1925).

Lee May and Tony Muser hit run-scoring singles for the Orioles in the first and the Tigers' Alex Johnson and John Wockenfuss homered in the fourth. The Orioles tied it, 3-3, in the sixth on pitcher Joe Coleman's wild throw to the plate. [The Sporting News]
