Pinch-hitter Jim Sundberg singled in the 10th to give the Rangers a 5-4 win over the Royals in the completion of the game suspended by curfew May 26 after nine innings with the score 4-4. The Rangers then pinned a 6-4 defeat on the Royals in the regularly scheduled game to move within half a game of division-leading Kansas City. Jim Fregosl's home run capped a four-run fourth inning by the Rangers, who erased a 3-0 deficit. Bill Singer, with relief from Joe Hoerner in the seventh, logged his fourth victory.
