The Tigers scored two runs in the last of the 11th inning to beat the Brewers, 5-4, behind rookie Mark Fidrych, who went the distance. Ron LeFlore's sacrifice fly brought in the tying run and Tom Veryzer's single scored Jerry Manuel, who had singled and stolen second base. Robin Yount's run-scoring single had given the Brewers a 4-3 lead in the top of the 11th. Don Money hit a three-run homer in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
