Chet Lemon was credited with a three-run triple in the first inning on a fly ball to short left field that was lost in the fog and the White Sox went on to wallop the Rangers, 9-4. Jim Spencer, with four hits, and Lemon, with three, helped the White Sox collect a club season high of 15 hits. The umpires twice suspended play until fog cleared enough to permit resumption.
