The Cubs got only the second complete game of the season from one of their pitchers when Bill Bonham defeated the Mets, 5-3. The only other route-going performance to the credit of the Cubs' staff was turned in April 30 by Rick Reuschel, who beat the Giants, 5-2. [The Sporting News]
