Danny Thompson, starting his first game since being obtained in a trade with the Twins, smashed four hits in four trips, including a homer, and drove in four runs to pace the Rangers' slugging in a 14-3 rout of the Tigers. Thompson singled in the first inning, hit his homer with two aboard in the second, drove in another run with a double in the sixth and singled again later in the same stanza before leaving the game with a slight muscle pull in his back.
