Ken Reitz drove in three runs with a homer and single to lead the Giants to a 4-2 victory over the Phillies and hand Steve Carlton his second straight loss and third of the season after the lefthander had won five times in a row. Reitz stroked his homer with a man on base in the second inning to put the Giants ahead, 2-1, and then accounted for his other RBI with a single in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
