Doubles by Roy Howell, Mike Hargrove, Jeff Burroughs and Jim Fregosi backed up the pitching of Gaylord Perry as the Rangers defeated the Orioles, 4-1, to sweep the four-game series. Howell's two-bagger in the second inning drove in Tom Grieve and Juan Beniquez, who had singled and walked, respectively.
