The Orioles suffered their eighth straight defeat in the club's longest losing streak since 1958 when they bowed to the Royals, 7-6. The only thing that made the score close was a three-run homer by Reggie Jackson in the ninth inning. John Mayberry hit his fourth homer in as many games for the Royals and George Brett drove in two runs with a pair of sacrifice flies. [The Sporting News]
