After George Brett saved the Royals from defeat with a two-run homer in the ninth inning, John Mayberry singled with the bases loaded in the 11th to defeat the Angels, 5-4. Mayberry also hit a homer in the seventh. In the 11th, Jim Wohlford doubled and Amos Otis and Brett walked to fill the sacks before Mayberry singled. [The Sporting News]
