Pinch-runner Davey Lopes scored from third base on a sacrifice fly by Lee Lacy and Bill Buckner followed with a home run as the Dodgers broke a 2-2 deadlock in the seventh inning, then went on to beat the Braves, 5-2. Lopes, running for winning pitcher Rick Rhoden, who had singled, stole second and reached third on Earl Williams' throwing error. [The Sporting News]
