Bill Travers pitched eight innings in 96-degree heat before surrendering the mound to Danny Frisella, who completed pitching the Brewers to a 3-1 victory over the Rangers. Of course the heat was just as tough on Gaylord Perry, who was the Rangers' loser in a bid for his 10th victory. Tom Grieve homered for the Rangers' lone tally, while Don Money batted in two runs for the Brewers with a homer in the first inning and a grounder in the third. [The Sporting News]
