Bill Travers pitched eight innings in 96-degree heat before surrendering the mound to Danny Frisella, who completed pitching the Brewers to a 3-1 victory over the Rangers. Of course the heat was just as tough on Gaylord Perry, who was the Rangers' loser in a bid for his 10th victory.
