Two successive homers in the first inning, accounting for four runs, powered the Reds to a 4-1 victory over the Expos. After Pete Rose and Ken Griffey led off with singles, Joe Morgan hit for the circuit and George Foster followed with another round-tripper to provide Snato Alcala with more than enough runs to win.
