Dave Kingman smashed his 32nd homer of the season in support of Mickey Lolich, who allowed only two hits and pitched the Mets to a 2-0 victory over the Braves. The Mets scored their initial run in the third inning on a single by Roy Staiger, sacrifice by Lolich and single by Felix Millan before Kingman clouted his homer in the next stanza.
