Marty Pattin made his second start of the season and emerged with credit for the Royals' 6-3 victory over the Red Sox. George Brett sealed the Royals' triumph by hitting a two-run homer in the seventh. Pattin weakened in the eighth and gave way to Steve Mingori, who finished. [The Sporting News]
