Don Carrithers turned in his first complete game for the Expos in nine starts this season and defeated the Braves, 4-3. The Expos nicked Andy Messersmith for singletons in the first two innings and then decided the outcome with two runs in the third.

Andre Thornton drew a walk and was forced by Larry Parrish. Pete Mackanin singled, sending Parrish to third. Barry Foote followed with a single, scoring Parrish. Mackanin took third on the play and counted what proved to be the winning run on a sacrifice fly by Pepe Frias. [The Sporting News]
