After losing eight previous meetings with the Rangers this season, the Red Sox turned around and gained a 4-2 victory. The Red Sox bunched three hits for a run in the first inning, scored again on a double by Cecil Cooper in the fourth and clinched the outcome with two runs in the sixth.
