The Yankee battery of Catfish Hunter and Thurman Munson proved to be too much for the Athletics, who absorbed a 10-1 beating. Hunter scattered nine hits and racked up his 12th victory while pitching his 13th complete game of the season. Munson rapped four hits. [The Sporting News]
