After winning the first game, 4-1, the Brewers got a four-hit pitching performance from Jerry Augustine and also won the second game, 5-0, in a sweep of a twi-night doubleheader with the Orioles. Gorman Thomas hit a two-run homer for the Brewers in the opener and Robin Yount drove in their two other runs while hitting safely in his 16th straight game. Reggie Jackson, who had hit homers for the Orioles in six straight
games, was stopped on his slugging streak.

In the nightcap, Yount also was halted, going hitless in three official trips. The Brewers had a homer by Jack Heidemann while handing Wayne Garland only his second loss in 14 decisions. [The Sporting News]
