The Phillies scored two runs in the sixth inning, then added two more in the eighth to support the six-hit pitching of Larry Christenson and Tug McGraw in a 4-1 victory over the Mets. Dave Cash tripled to start the home half of the sixth and scored on Larry Bowa's sacrifice fly.

Mike Schmidt followed with a double, his sixth successive hit over two games, took third after Greg Luzinski flied out and scored on Jon Matlack's wild pitch. In the eighth, McGraw doubled and scored on a triple by Cash. When Felix Millan failed to handle the throw from the outfield, Cash came in to score the Phillies' fourth run. [The Sporting News]
