A sacrifice fly by Pedro Garcia in the ninth inning brought the Tigers a 1-0 victory over the Brewers in a pitching duel between Dave Roberts and Jerry Augustine. Tim Johnson led off the inning with a single and moved around to third on a sacrifice by Aurelio Rodriguez and single by Bill Freehan before crossing the plate on Garcia's fly.
