. . . where the 1970s live forever!

After being held hitless for 5 2/3 innings, the Orioles rallied to defeat the Yankees, 4-3. Doyle Alexander, who started for the Yanks, had a perfect game going until Mark Belanger was safe on an error in the sixth. Then, with two out, Al Bumbry tripled to drive in the Orioles' first run.

The Orioles completed their comeback with three runs in the seventh. Singles by Bobby Grich, Lee May and Ken Singleton accounted for the first tally and another run crossed the plate on a wild pitch and single by Belanger. After a pass to Doug DeCinces loaded the bases, Andres Mora grounded into a forceout as Singleton scored the deciding run. [The Sporting News]
