George Foster smashed a three-run homer and Joe Morgan, who had a homer, double and two walks, scored four times as the Reds defeated the Padres, 9-3. Foster's blow in the first inning followed a single by Ken Griffey and pass to Morgan. Morgan counted again after drawing another pass in the third, drove in a run with his double and scored himself in the sixth before accounting for the Reds' last tally with his homer in the eighth.
