Tom Poquette, who has been a red-hot hitter against the Rangers this season, with 13 hits in 21 times at bat, collected three singles and drove in the tie-breaking run in the fifth inning to win the game for the Royals, 2-1. The Rangers collected only three hits off Dennis Leonard, who pitched 8 1/3 innings before leaving the game with a blister on his pitching hand.
