A sacrifice fly by Mario Guerrero with the bases loaded and one out in the 11th inning scored Rusty Torres and gave the Angels a 3-2 victory over the White Sox. Ralph Garr doubled and Jim Spencer homered for the White Sox' runs in the fourth. The Angels came back with a homer by Bill Melton in the fifth and tied the score with a single by Dan Briggs and double by Dave Collins in the eighth.

Bobby Bonds opened the 11th with a triple. The White Sox then issued intentional passes to Torres and Melton to load the bases. The strategy worked for one out when Leroy Stanton forced Bonds at the plate, but Guerrero then ended the game with his scoring fly. [The Sporting News]
