Aurelio Rodriguez homered with a man on base in the second inning and helped knock out Jim Palmer with a run-scoring double in the sixth as the Tigers defeated the Orioles, 5-4. Reggie Jackson hit a two-run homer for the Orioles in the first before Rodriguez tied the score with his smash in the second. The Tigers added a run on a double by Willie Horton in the third and put the game away with a pair in the sixth on a single by Alex Johnson, double by Rodriguez and single by Bill Freehan.
