Taking advantage of two errors, the Expos scored twice on a double by Tim Foli in the eighth inning to defeat the Pirates, 7-6. Andre Thornton homered for the Expos in the seventh, but the Pirates, who earlier had a round-tripper by Dave Parker, erupted for three runs in their half of the seventh to take a 6-5 lead.

However in the eighth, Larry Parrish reached base with one out when Willie Stargell dropped a throw from Richie Hebner. Bob Moose then booted a grounder by Earl Williams before Foli doubled for the Expos' game-winner. [The Sporting News]
