. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The streaking Twins gained their fifth straight victory and 10th in the last 12 games when Dan Ford hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to beat the Athletics, 6-5. Joe Rudi and Gene Tenace each drove in two runs and Billy Williams homered for the A's, who held a 5-4 lead until the Twins decided the outcome when Mike Cubbage was safe on an error in the eighth and Ford smashed his round-tripper off Stan Bahnsen.
