The Cubs knocked out Lynn McGlothen and continued their attack on Al Hrabosky while scoring four runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Cardinals, 6-2. Joe Wallis singled, Jose Cardenal beat out an infield hit and Bill Madlock doubled for a run that broke a 2-2 tie. Hrabosky, relieving, walked Jerry Morales intentionally. Wayne Tyrone batted for Pete LaCock and drove in two runs with a single before George Mitterwald hit a sacrifice fly to complete the scoring. [The Sporting News]
