. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Although troubled by a pulled thigh muscle, Hal McRae rapped a double and homer to spark the Royals to a 7-1 victory over the Twins, who were stopped on their eight-game winning streak. The Royals ripped into Eddie Bane for three runs in the first inning on a double by Amos Otis, single by George Brett and doubles by McRae and John Mayberry.

The Royals added three more runs in the third on McRae's homer, two walks and a double by Buck Martinez. Brett doubled in the eighth and scored on another two-bagger by Mayberry. For the 24th time this season, Brett had three or more hits in one game. [The Sporting News]
