Sparked by Joe Morgan, who broke a 3-3 tie with a homer, the Reds scored four runs in the ninth inning and defeated the Dodgers, 7-4. The Reds capitalized on an error by Reggie Smith to score three unearned runs in the third and held a 3-2 lead before Ron Cey tied the score with a homer in the sixth.
