After going one month without winning, Mike Torrez pitched the Athletics to a 9-1 victory over the Angels. The complete game was only the sixth in 26 starts for Torrez, who limited the Angels to eight hits. The A's had 12 hits, including homers by Sal Bando and Bill North. [The Sporting News]
