After falling to hold a 3-0 lead, the Athletics came back with a run in the eighth to beat the Brewers, 4-3, for their sixth straight victory. The A's counted their first three runs in the fifth on doubles by Billy Williams and Phil Garner, singles by Bill North and Bert Campaneris and a sacrifice fly by Joe Rudi.

The Brewers picked up a run in the sixth and knotted the count in the top half of the eighth when Bill Sharp walked, Von Joshua doubled and Robin Yount singled. The A's retaliated with the tie-breaker in their half with a walk to Sal Bando, a stolen base by pinch-runner Larry Lintz and single by Gene Tenace. [The Sporting News]
