George Foster drove in four runs with a homer and single, boosting his RBI total to 106, and Dave Concepcion accounted for three runs with a pair of round-trippers as the Reds defeated the Mets, 7-3. Concepcion started the scoring with a solo swat in the third inning.

The Mets came back with a pair in the fifth, but the Reds went ahead to stay in the sixth when Foster and Concepcion each connected for the circuit with a man on base.
