Graig Nettles hit his third homer in two days and Roy White added a round-tripper for what proved to be the Yankees' deciding run in a 5-4 victory over the Twins. The Yankees' first two runs were unearned before singles by Fred Stanley, Mickey Rivers and Thurman Munson supplied a tally in the fourth inning. Nettles whacked his homer in the fifth and White, who had four hits, connected for the circuit in the sixth. Larry Hisle hit a two-run homer for the Twins. [The Sporting News] |
