Robin Yount batted in two runs and scored one to lead the Brewers to a 5-3 victory over the Angels. After Von Joshua and George Scott singled and Darrell Porter doubled for a Brewer run in the first inning, Mike Hegan homered in the fourth. Yount singled, stole second and scored on a single by Don Money in the sixth.

Yount drove in a run with a single in the seventh to make it 4-0 before the Angels chased Bill Travers while scoring three times in the home half of the seventh. Bill Castro relieved and safeguarded Travers' 14th victory. Yount made the decision secure by driving in the final run with a grounder in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
