. . . where the 1970s live forever!

After the White Sox gained a 2-1 victory in the first game of a twi-night doubleheader, the second game turned into a scoring spree with the Red Sox winning, 11-7. In the opener, the White Sox registered the deciding run in the ninth when Pat Kelly doubled and Bill Stein singled.

Bob Montgomery led the Red Sox in the nightcap, driving in five runs, three with a homer in the second inning and two with a bases-loaded double in the fifth. Montgomery also scored himself on a single by Rick Burleson, who finished the twin-bill with seven hits in 10 times at bat. [The Sporting News]
