Rick Rhoden helped himself to his 11th victory against one defeat by hitting a double in the fourth inning when the Dodgers scored all their runs to edge the Mets, 4-3. The Mets counted their markers in the first on a walk to Bruce Boisclair, single by Felix Millan and homer by John Milner.

Steve Garvey beat out a bunt to start the Dodgers' rally in the fourth, Ron Cey walked and Bill Russell and Lee Lacy hit singles to produce the Dodgers' first two runs.
