Bert Campaneris and Cesar Tovar drove in two runs apiece to lead the Athletics to a 5-4 victory over the Brewers. Tovar accounted for his two RBIs with a single in the fourth inning. Campaneris hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth. The Brewers knocked out Mike Norris in their half of the fifth and took the lead with four runs, including a homer by Sixto Lezcano.

In the seventh, Phil Garner walked, stole second and scored the tying run on a single by Bill North. Taking second on the throw to the plate, North then came home with the A's winning run on a single by Campaneris. [The Sporting News]
