Two Yankees homers pinned a 2-1 defeat on Tommy Boggs, Rangers' rookie righthander, who turned in the first complete game of his major league career while dropping his third straight decision. Oscar Gamble connected off the youngster in the fifth inning for the Yankees' first hit. After the Rangers tied the score in the ninth on a walk to Toby Harrah, single by Mike Hargrove and forceout by Jeff Burroughs, Graig Nettles swung at Boggs' first pitch in the Yankees' half of the ninth and homered for the winning run.
