Jerry Koosman was a winner for the sixth straight time and the 10th time in his last 11 decisions when the Mets' southpaw defeated the Padres, 7-1. The Mets took a 2-0 lead before Tito Fuentes homered for the Padres' run in the sixth inning. The Mets then locked up Koosman's decision with four runs in the seventh.
