A bases-loaded double by Willie Randolph and triple by Mickey Rivers highlighted a seventh-inning rally that carried the Yankees to a 5-4 victory over the Twins. With the score tied, 1-1, the Yankees loaded the bases with a double by Chris Chambliss, single by Graig Nettles and pass to Otto Velez.

Randolph cleared the sacks with his double and scored what proved to be the winning run on Rivers' triple. The Twins picked up a tally in the eighth and then fell one run short when Dan Ford singled and pinch-hitter Tony Oliva smashed his first homer of the year in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
