A ground-rule double by Ken Henderson, who drove in two runs in the sixth inning, helped the Braves defeat the Cubs, 5-3. The Braves held a 1-0 lead going into the sixth when Rod Gilbreath walked, Rowland Office singled and Willie Montanez was safe on an error to load the bases.

Henderson followed with his double on a drive that bounced over the left field fence. Jim Wynn hit a sacrifice fly to add a third run before the inning ended. Rick Monday homered with a man on base for the Cubs. [The Sporting News]
