An unearned run in the 12th inning enabled the Twins to defeat the Brewers, 3-2. Rod Carew led off with a single. Lyman Bostock followed with a bunt and when catcher Darrell Porter threw the ball over the head of first baseman George Scott, Carew came around to score the winning run. Scott homered for the Brewers, who lost a 2-0 lead in the ninth when the Twins tied the score with a single by Mike Cubbage, double by Dan Ford and single by Roy Smalley. [The Sporting News]
