. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Vida Blue shut out the Yankees on seven singles and pitched the Athletics to a 5-0 victory. The complete game was Blue's seventh straight, while the shutout was his sixth of the season.

The A's nicked Catfish Hunter for a run in the first inning on a single by Bert Campaneris, his first of three stolen bases, and a single by Joe Rudi. Doubles by Jeff Newman and Don Baylor added a tally in the second. Gene Tenace homered in the third. Phil Garner accounted for the last two runs with a bases-loaded single in the fifth.
