. . . where the 1970s live forever!

After a quick kayo of Eddie Bane in the first inning, Tom Johnson relieved and pitched 8 1/3 sterling stanzas to receive credit for the Twins' 8-4 victory over the Brewers. Bane was rapped for three runs on four hits before being removed.

The Twins came back to tie the score and then took command of the game with four runs in the sixth. Steve Braun singled, took second on an infield out and scored the tie-breaker on a single by Rod Carew. Consecutive singles by Lyman Bostock, Butch Wynegar, Mike Cubbage and Larry Hisle then added three runs. [The Sporting News]
