The Brewers defeated the Indians, 3-2, in the first game of a doubleheader, but the Tribe bounced back to take the nightcap by the same score. Rookie Dan Thomas doubled to score Darrell Porter, who had walked, with the deciding run in the ninth inning of the opener.

With the score tied at 2-2 in the fifth inning of the nightcap, John Lowenstein doubled and scored all the way from second when Charlie Moore fielded Larvell Blanks' chopper and pulled Mike Hegan off the bag at first. [The Sporting News]
