Dave Kingman drove in three runs with his major league-leading 34th homer and a double to power the Mets to a 7-4 triumph over the Cubs as Jerry Koosman notched his 18th victory. Kingman's homer was a two-run blow in the first inning. Rick Monday hit his 28th homer for the Cubs leading off the first, and added a two-run single in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
