. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The Expos and Cardinals split a doubleheader, the Expos winning the second game, 3-2, on a pinch-single by Earl Williams, after Pete Falcone pitched the Cardinals to a 3-1 victory in the opener. Williams' single scored Mike Jorgensen, who opened the ninth inning with a walk and moved up on Bombo Rivera's sacrifice.

The Cardinals scored three runs in the seventh to back a four-hit effort by Falcone, who had eight strikeouts. Garry Templeton, Lou Brock and Luis Alvarado singled and Willie Crawford delivered a sacrifice fly in a three-run seventh when the Cardinals bunched three of their five hits off Steve Rogers.
